The optimal format for most ecommerce products: [Brand] [Product Type] [Key Differentiator] [Color/Size/Variant]. Example: "Nike Air Max 90 Running Shoe — Black/White, Men's Size 10".
Platform Requirements
- Google Shopping: Max 150 characters. Most important keywords in first 70 characters (truncation point on mobile).
- Amazon: Max 200 characters. Brand must be first word. Include key attributes.
- Your website: Optimize for both SEO and user readability. Include the primary keyword naturally.
Common Mistakes
Keyword stuffing (repeating the same word 3+ times), missing brand name, all-caps words, promotional text ("SALE!", "FREE SHIPPING"), and overly generic titles ("Nice Product — Great Quality"). Each reduces click-through rate and can trigger platform disapprovals.
